Thus, it > shouldn't be the sentence "Note that you cannot abbreviate this command." i can see why that sounds a bit confusing, but -h is a "short" command, and --help is a "long" command. gpg offers abbreviations of most long commands, so that (for example) you can use "--bat" as a long-option abbreviation for the "--batch". So this is the manual telling you that gpg won't accept "--hel" instead of "--help". Confusing, though! I'm attaching a patch which i've also pushed upstream. --dkg
