Dear Andreas,
I have packaged examl for Debian
Thank you :-)
and this is the first bug report the package received. As far as I'm reading the Makefile and docs the -msse3 switch is effectively needed in the code.
Yes.
The only solution I see to close this bug report is to not provide the binaries resulting from those makefiles that are containing the -msse3 switch on those architectures that do not know it. Could you please confirm this suspicion?
Yes. The reason for this design is that the code is targeted at x86 based cluster and supercomputing systems which are the most common/readily available, hence we do not support any other architectures for this code.
Kind regards and thanks for providing examl as free software
:-) Thanks for thr packaging.
Andreas. PS: If your lab provides other code you consider important for bioinformatics please give me a hint to add it to the Debian package pool as well.
Based on impact I would suggest packaging the following codes: ExaBayes: https://github.com/aberer/exabayes RogueNaRok: https://github.com/aberer/RogueNaRok mPTP: https://github.com/Pas-Kapli/mptp All the best, Alexis -- Prof. Dr. Alexandros (Alexis) Stamatakis Phone: +49-6221-533-240 Fax: +49-6221-533-298 E-Mail: alexandros.stamata...@h-its.org WWW: www.h-its.org HITS gGmbH Schloss-Wolfsbrunnenweg 35 D-69118 Heidelberg Amtsgericht Mannheim / HRB 337446 Managing Director: Dr. Gesa Schönberger Scientific Director: Prof. Dr. Michael Strube
