It seems that there are some other cases where the pre-GCC 5 behavior of inline is assumed in libnids and therefore the patch I originally posted it not enough to fix this. For example, dsniff failed to build on Ubuntu (where this previous patch is already applied) with: > /usr/lib/libnids.so: undefined reference to `ip_compute_csum' > /usr/lib/libnids.so: undefined reference to `my_tcp_check' > /usr/lib/libnids.so: undefined reference to `my_udp_check' > /usr/lib/libnids.so: undefined reference to `ip_fast_csum' I found this patch from fedora which may be able to fix these, but I have not tested it: http://pkgs.fedoraproject.org/cgit/rpms/libnids.git/commit/?id=ecafb692f20e0acad555f66c3cc1646997a82dae Thanks, James
