The proposed patch does not fix the FTBFS problem. See attach (but I also tried several more times). In case you want to reproduce this for yourself, I wrote a description of my build environment here: https://people.debian.org/~sanvila/my-building-environment.txt I would consider disabling the test suite (maybe to enable it again after the release of Debian 9).
