Not sure if it explains anything, but I see two Exceptions in the build log¹. I suspect these are the root cause, but I would have expected the build to fail if that was considered fatal though: ... /interfaces/gtk/gtkwsstdctrls.pp -Fi../../../lcl/include"FPDoc - Free Pascal Documentation Tool Version 3.0.0 [2016/09/12] (c) 2000 - 2003 Areca Systems GmbH / Sebastian Guenther, s...@freepascal.org (c) 2005 - 2012 various FPC contributors Exception at 00000000004BDB6C: EDOMError: EDOMError in DOMDocument.CreateElement. Somewhat later we have: /usr/bin/make -C docs/html htmlinstall INSTALL_PREFIX=/«BUILDDIR»/lazarus-1.6.2+dfsg/debian/tmp2/usr INSTALL_DOCDIR=/«BUILDDIR»/lazarus-1.6.2+dfsg/debian/tmp2/usr/share/doc/lazarus/1.6.2 Which is the install command from lazarus. That looks all right, except apparently there were no files to install, because several lines later...
