This looks like something to do with those symlinks instead of directories you have on /var/cache/pbuilder (although you state it also happens if that's a tmpfs which wonders me) as I’m running new pbuilder on sid with old chroots quite a lot without such problems. One of the issues looks like something (mount?) realpath()ising while something else (umount?) isn’t (or the calls to them). bye, //mirabilos -- Stéphane, I actually don’t block Googlemail, they’re just too utterly stupid to successfully deliver to me (or anyone else using Greylisting and not whitelisting their ranges).
