I switched to unattended-upgrades and now needrestart prints lots of the following lines, it appears that it prints one for each message it prints. I would recommend checking if the $fd or STDOUT is a terminal before calling GetTerminalSize. When not writing to a terminal, I think needrestart should not wrap any messages.
