Please note that your remaining Error is about 1 out of 2 hunks FAILED dpkg-source: info: the patch has fuzz which is not allowed, or is malformed dpkg-source: info: if patch '02_kfreebsd.patch' is correctly applied by quilt, use 'quilt refresh' to update it That seems hardly related to me? Either you have a different base that it does not apply or some other Delta. Before it worked in my usual qemu git repo which has all kind of tweaks. So I ran it to the end on my side from scratch. The "Treeish" you get is from building the orig tarball. I usually just have them, so replicate this by pull-debian-source into /tmp and giving that to gbp. Thinking more I happen to have in my usual repo a remote that has pristine-tar for all releases. Also it seems genchanges in this setup wants to write debian/control after build. To have it read only is a safety measure to not accidentially edit it while you should do so in debian / control . in (split as the URL filter blocked me on last submission) But if needed here we can add that as well. Knowing these things I slightly modified my howto to build from scratch and it works just fine. => http://paste.ubuntu.com/24460540/ > Probably worth noting I use the latest: > gbp --version > gbp 0.8.14 > Ok, I have 0.7.2 as in Xenial, but if that would be the only diff it would be a gbp bug.
