That's not the problem because 'nautilus --gapplication-service' is supposed to exit after a while. nautilus-desktop contacts nautilus over D-Bus, D-Bus runs 'nautilus --gapplication-service' if it's not already running, and then nautilius exits after a short time if it's not being used.
