Package: inkscape Version: 0.92.1-1 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer,
Using AwesomeWM as my window manager in one of the tiling modes causes Inkscape's UI to be corrupted. If I use the floating mode (where Inkscape can set its own size / position on the screen), everything works normally. When launching Inkscape in one of Awesome's tiling modes, the UI is somewhat responsive some of the time, but doesn't appear to redraw the entire window. For example, zooming in/out will redraw the ruler, but not the editing area. Eventually Inkscape stops responding to UI input (I haven't been able to trace what causes it to stop responding). This seems to only happen when launching Inkscape: if I start Inkscape from the floating mode and I switch to a tiling mode, everything works fine even if I resize the window. My suspicion is that Inkscape and Awesome are fighting over window sizes when originally creating the window and Inkscape is holding on to the assumption that it got the size it requested. In addition to this (which could be related?): Inkscape has the bad habit of putting itself on my 2nd monitor after loading a file for no obvious reason. For example, I can load up Inkscape on my primary monitor, open another file and the new window will appear on the 2nd monitor.
