I can't reproduce it with the current version in Debian (0.25.1-5). I tried with a locale set to fr_FR.UTF-8 and also with only the following variables: LANG=fr_FR.ISO-8859-1, LC_CTYPE=fr_FR.ISO-8859-1 (as in your bug report). In both cases, the straw GUI is correctly translated. Do you confirm, or can you still reproduce this bug?
