Hi! Current mgetty does not start from inittab as well as it is not started by systemd (at least on my sid system). According to https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=66&t=132542 there's something missing for systemd. When I follow those instructions, mgetty works for me. I'm unsure if this qualifies for release-critical or not. At least it's easy to fix...
