Package: runit Version: 2.1.2-9.2 Severity: important After updating a server from Jessie to Stretch, vblade-persist stopped working. It took me a while to understand the chain of items to blame: When I requesed «vblade-persist start all», it just replied that «runsv not running» — This, in turn, happened because runit was installed, but being unable to run under PID 1, it just died.
After installing runit-systemd, everything worked smoothly. So, runit should depend (or at very least, recommend) the relevant package for the init system in use!
