we run a 6 node Kafka 0.9.0.1 cluster and we have recently noticed timeouts and various issues on our brokers due to the following bug: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/KAFKA-3593 The issue was generated by a host recently re-imaged with Debian Stretch and running pmacct, as outlined in the following task: https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T172681 By default Stretch ships with librdkafka 0.11 and only pmacct 1.6.2 allows fine tuning of its settings via configuration file, as indicated in: https://github.com/edenhill/librdkafka/wiki/Broker-version-compatibility This means that pmacct on Stretch is not usable with Kafka 0.9.X cluster. It would be great if 1.6.2 was imported and/or the patch that allows librdkafka configuration on top of 1.6.1. Thanks!
