Hi perl maintainers,

perl fails to cross build from source:

| powerpc-linux-gnu-gcc -c -DPERL_CORE -D_REENTRANT -D_GNU_SOURCE -DDEBIAN
-Wdate-time -D_FORTIFY_SOURCE=2 -g -O2
-fdebug-prefix-map=/build/perl-qTvMce/perl-5.26.0=. -fstack-protector-strong
-Wformat -Werror=format-security -fwrapv -fno-strict-aliasing -pipe
-I/usr/local/include -D_LARGEFILE_SOURCE -D_FILE_OFFSET_BITS=64 -std=c89 -O2 -g
-Wall -Werror=declaration-after-statement -Wextra -Wc++-compat -Wwrite-strings
generate_uudmap.c
| powerpc-linux-gnu-gcc -o generate_uudmap -Wl,-z,relro
-fstack-protector-strong -L/usr/local/lib generate_uudmap.o -ldl -lm -lpthread
-lc -lcrypt
| ./generate_uudmap uudmap.h bitcount.h mg_data.h
| ./generate_uudmap: 1: ./generate_uudmap: Syntax error: "(" unexpected
| Makefile:320: recipe for target 'bitcount.h' failed
| make[1]: *** [bitcount.h] Error 2
| make[1]: Leaving directory '/<<PKGBUILDDIR>>'
| debian/rules:124: recipe for target 'perl.static' failed
| make: *** [perl.static] Error 2
| dpkg-buildpackage: error: debian/rules build-arch gave error exit status 2

Normally, I don't report such issues without a patch, but you spent time
on making perl cross buildable, so I assume you are interested in the
report. I haven't figured out how to make it work again and hope that
this report is useful to you.
