The root cause is the migration from GTK2 to GTK3 on Jessie. This
release of Debian is not ready for this change due to those issues:
- gnome-orca (screenreader) is shipped in version 3.14 that doesn't
support Thunderbird GTK3
- HighContrast from Mate theme doesn't fully support GTK3 on Debian Jessie.
