Hello, We do not use custom stuff to mirror projects, in this case ftpsync. I use puppet to manage all this stuff, so one-offs which will require me to spend time on this are a non-starter to be on our 20-gigabit connected server. I have told SourceForge the same thing, and they are no longer mirrored by us.
I am showing the following rsync targets have not had errors in quite some time: debian: remotesrc: "rsync://mirrors.kernel.org/debian" localdest: "/var/www/html/pub/debian" extracommand: "date -u > /var/www/html/pub/debian/project/trace/mirror.math.princeton.edu; chmod 755 /var/www/html/pub/debian/project/trace/mirror.math.princeton.edu" debian-archive: remotesrc: "rsync://archive.debian.org/debian-archive" localdest: "/var/www/html/pub/debian-archive" extracommand: "date -u > /var/www/html/pub/debian-archive/project/trace/mirror.math.princeton.edu; chmod 755 /var/www/html/pub/debian-archive/project/trace/mirror.math.princeton.edu; ln /var/www/html/pub/debian-archive/project/trace/master /var/www/html/pub/debian-archive/project/trace/archive.debian.org" debian-cd: remotesrc: "rsync://mirror.rit.edu/debian-cd" localdest: "/var/www/html/pub/debian-cd" extracommand: "date -u > /var/www/html/pub/debian-cd/project/trace/mirror.math.princeton.edu; chmod 755 /var/www/html/pub/debian-cd/project/trace/mirror.math.princeton.edu" Are there more appropriate rsync targets we can use that are tier-0 instead of hitting these tier-1 targets? If whitelisted for rsync I will change the targets and hopefully that will fix the issues. Please investigate. Also, o The trace file at http://mirror.math.princeton.edu/pub/debian/project/trace/mirror.math.princeton.edu does not contain much information. Please use our ftpsync script to mirror Debian. Using a modern ftpsync ensures updates are done in the correct order so apt clients don't get confused. In particular, it processes translations, contents, and more files that have been added to the archive in recent years in the correct stage. It also should produce trace files that contain more information that is useful for us. http://ftp.debian.org/debian/project/ftpsync/ftpsync-current.tar.gz Cheers, Peter 1: https://mirror-master.debian.org/status/mirror-info/mirror.math.princeton.edu.html -- | .''`. ** Debian ** Peter Palfrader | : :' : The universal https://www.palfrader.org/ | `. `' Operating System | `- https://www.debian.org/
