Package: nm.debian.org
Severity: wishlist

Hi!

Following recent changes in the nm.debian.org site, there seems to
have been somewhat of a surge in the number of new "emeritus"
developers, presumably because the site makes it easier for people to
confirm their inactive status. Similarly, the WAT/MIA process was
improved which led to new emails being sent there as well.

I was wondering what the impact of those changes was and discovered
there was no *history* of how many actual DDs we have. There are
*those* stats:

https://nm.debian.org/public/stats

... but that's only a snapshot of the current state.

What I'd like to see is something like this:

https://nm.debian.org/stats/

but with the line items being:

 * Debian member (uploading)
 * Debian member (non-uploading)
 * Debian maintainer
 * Emeritus

The idea is to figure out if this will show confirmation or
infirmation of the theory that the recent changes have an impact.

Of course, that said impact is only on the *effective* status of
developers. If a DD is inactive yet still has the DD status isn't
shown here and the purpose here is not to say that the new process
kicks people out that would otherwise be active... The idea is just to
show trends and how effective the new measures are at showing the
*real* population of DDs...

Thanks!
