It is true, but I think it is an option still. For unusual installations
(kiosk mode) you can just run surf with an URL as an argument and it
will work just fine.

Yes, it will be installed by default even as a recommended dependency.

Well, in my case, /usr/bin/dmenu is a symlink to /usr/bin/rofi. And it
works in surf. Or you can write a simple one-line script in
/usr/bin/dmenu, like `zenity --entry`. Will work on ctrl+g too.
