Package: setserial Version: 2.17-50 Severity: important Tags: upstream Dear Maintainer,
* What led up to the situation? Using multiport card from BrainBox Ltd. It works well up to Debian 6.10 version * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or ineffective)? I have tried several Debian live version back to wheezy no result. I have tried SystemRescue-CD can not set ttyS4-ttyS7 I have a "living" windows 10 on this box, and card is work well (every ports) with same port and irq settings. * What was the outcome of this action? I can not set port parameters using setserial - "Invalid argument". * What outcome did you expect instead? Working multiport serial card from ttyS4 to ttyS7 I'm affraid that this is a kernel problem. -- System Information: Debian Release: 9.2 APT prefers stable-updates APT policy: (500, 'stable-updates'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 4.9.0-4-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE=en_US:en (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages setserial depends on: ii debconf [debconf-2.0] 1.5.61 ii init-system-helpers 1.48 ii libc6 2.24-11+deb9u1 ii lsb-base 9.20161125 setserial recommends no packages. setserial suggests no packages. -- debconf information: setserial/autosave: true * setserial/autosave-types: manual
