I think your reasoning is incorrect. The "default" device should already be setup in the global "/usr/share/alsa/alsa.conf" file so it works even if asoundrc does not exist. The reason you should use "default" is because pulseaudio, if installed, will automatically override it for you. > But I'll work on changing the emulator audio from "alsa" to "pulseaudio".
