Package: dh-make
Version: 2.201608
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

dh_make's --overlay/-o option is documented as taking a directory argument, to
apply extra templates.
Under previous versions (circa Squeeze/Wheezy from memory) the perl version
worked as documented.

The current python version treats --overlay as a flag but requires an argument.

The only work around I've found is to specify both --overlay true and
--templates <overlay-dir>

The current mode of operation isn't necessarily bad/wrong, but the
documentation/help doesn't match the behaviour.
Currently this behaviour breaks backwards compatibility with the perl version.

Regards,

Stephen Reay
