Package: gedit-plugin-bracket-completion Version: 3.22.0-3 Severity: important
Dear Maintainer, When using the gedit plugin 'bracket-completion' text input will occasionally slow down to the point that restarting the text-editor is the only way to continue editing the text. This problem occurs when the bracket-completion plugin is active and completable characters are entered in the editor (backticks or parantheses for example). The following messages can be seen repeated over and over when gedit is launched from a terminal and the problem is triggered: Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/gedit/plugins/bracketcompletion.py", line 268, in on_event_after word, start, end = self.get_current_token() File "/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/gedit/plugins/bracketcompletion.py", line 144, in get_current_token word = self._doc.get_text(start, end) TypeError: Gtk.TextBuffer.get_text() takes exactly 4 arguments (3 given) -- System Information: Debian Release: buster/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 4.14.0-1-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_IN.utf8, LC_CTYPE=en_IN.utf8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE=en_IN:en (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages gedit-plugin-bracket-completion depends on: ii gedit 3.22.1-1+b1 ii gedit-plugins-common 3.22.0-3 ii gir1.2-glib-2.0 1.54.1-3 ii gir1.2-gtk-3.0 3.22.26-2 ii gir1.2-peas-1.0 1.22.0-1+b1 ii python3 3.6.3-2 ii python3-gi 3.26.1-1 gedit-plugin-bracket-completion recommends no packages. gedit-plugin-bracket-completion suggests no packages. -- no debconf information
