I'm using KDE Plasma 5.11.4
Starting with an empy profile or with safe-mode doesn't change the situation

Disabling apparmor for thunderbird solve the problem

I have just seen this if I have compiled Thunderbird with GCC7.

Could you give some more information about your environment you are
using?

Which DE you are running on?
Do you have any old extensions installedd and active?
Do you have any local installed add-ons or extensions running? Do you
have tried to remove or deactivate them?
Do have the same issues vissible with a new profile?

Do have tried to disable the TB apparmor profile or to start with a
removed apparmor package?

Regards
Carsten

Versions of packages thunderbird suggests:
ii apparmor 2.12-1
ii fonts-lyx 2.2.3-2
ii libgssapi-krb5-2 1.15.2-2
