Package: spamassassin
Version: 3.4.1-6+deb9u1
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

Dear Maintainer,

I enabled CRON=1 in /etc/default/spamassassin, to enable the cron job to
automatically update spamassassin's rules.

Then I run /etc/cron.daily/spamassassin, which failed with this error
message:

rules: failed to run FORGED_GMAIL_RCVD test, skipping:
        (Can't locate object method "check_for_forged_gmail_received_headers"
via package "Mail::SpamAssassin::PerMsgStatus" at (eval 1325) line 71.
)
channel: lint check of update failed, channel failed
sa-update failed for unknown reasons

After this, the spamassassin service is unable to restart, trying
systemctl restart spamassassin.service I get the following errors in
syslog:

spamd[2365]: logger: removing stderr method
spamd[2367]: config: no rules were found! Do you need to run 'sa-update'?
spamd[2365]: child process [2367] exited or timed out without signaling
production of a PID file: e
systemd[1]: spamassassin.service: Control process exited, code=exited status=255
systemd[1]: Failed to start Perl-based spam filter using text analysis.

To be able to restart spamd, I had to remove the directory:

rm -r /var/lib/spamassassin/3.004001/
