Any. "gxmessage test" shows another icon on the ok button, for example. (probably from the adwaita icon theme? I'm actually not sure). I only ever used the HighContrast theme. > How are you setting the HighContrast icon theme? I set this using lxappearance, which basically sets gtk-icon-theme-name=HighContrast in ~/.config/gtk-3.0/settings.ini > What desktop are you using? I'm not using any DE. I noticed the change because the File Open Dialog of FF (for example, it's currently using GTK3) has now the tango/ icons instead of the HighContrast I usually use. But Inkscape, which is still GTK2, still retains the HighContrast icon.
