Thank you again for the bug report. The behaviour you noticed is gnome-terminal's behaviour. Try starting up gnome-terminal and you will get the same behaviour. Perhaps the "solution" is to keep the window open whilst you want to keep its selection active. Closing the window renders the selection inactive. This seems like "logical" behaviour?
