Dear team, Now that #852699 is closed, the basic functionalities of Dasher work in a Wayland session. However, this is making use of the X11 backend. The drawback is that Direct mode only works for X11 windows (e.g. emacs or any Gtk window started with GDK_BACKEND=x11). A global workaround would be for users to go back using an X11 session. So, in my opinion, now that the default GNOME session uses Wayland, this bug is of severity 'important'. (In this context, #852699 would even have been 'serious'). Unfortunately I have no clue how to fix this. Kind regards, Thibaut. -- System Information: Debian Release: buster/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (900, 'testing'), (500, 'testing-debug'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 4.14.0-3-amd64 (SMP w/8 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=fr_FR.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=fr_FR.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE=fr_FR.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) LSM: AppArmor: enabled Versions of packages dasher depends on: ii dasher-data 5.0.0~beta~repack-6 ii libatk-adaptor 2.26.2-1 ii libatspi2.0-0 2.28.0-1 ii libc6 2.27-2 ii libcairo2 1.15.10-1 ii libexpat1 2.2.5-3 ii libgcc1 1:8-20180312-2 ii libglib2.0-0 2.54.3-2 ii libgtk-3-0 3.22.29-1 ii libpango-1.0-0 1.40.14-1 ii libpangocairo-1.0-0 1.40.14-1 ii libspeechd2 0.8.8-1 ii libstdc++6 8-20180312-2 dasher recommends no packages. dasher suggests no packages. -- no debconf information
