pgcli > 1.6 depends on their own version of cli_helpers which they use for pgcli and mycli. And I dont feel it would be ideal to vendorize the library in both packages. So I opened this https://mentors.debian.net/package/cli-helpers 5 months ago. If that was to go in at some point I will also update these two packages.
