The current plan is to only ship OpenJDK 11 in Buster but I can imagine that we keep OpenJDK 8 just for building packages but depend on OpenJDK 11 at runtime. OpenJDK 8 will be supported until 2020 but even without support it should be safe to use for development purposes. Ok, let's keep that in mind and see what happens. Regards, Markus
