Additionally, I now believe that ert-runner should not be used to run tests on buildd or autopkgtests because it could hijack dh-elpa's IO and backtraces similarly to Cask (see #837922 for more info). I'm unsetting myself as owner of this bug because I believe it would be a better use of time to work on making Elpy's `elpy-shell-send-region-or-buffer-should-notify-of-removing-main` work with dh-elpa directly than to package ert-runner.
