Package: debian-maintainers
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

I understand that LTS support for Wheezy is to end effective May 31.2018.
Because of kernel issues in regards to the amateur radio protocol stacks
this should be extended until such time that proper kernel patches are
committed and in place.

As of this writing, the more stable kernel available is 3.2.0.5 if one is using
debian for amateur radio ax25/netrom/rose interfaces, otherwise many critical
issues too great to list here exist. Staying on Wheezy for now is a ham's best
bet for system stability. Even kernel 3.2.0.6 will lock the system up within 48
hours.

No outcome at this time, hopefully Debian will reconsider extending Wheezy LTS
support for a while longer.

Thanks for your considerations.
