how about we give the option of continuing or not instead of
just a note?  i noticed in at least one report the submitter
basically said something like "i haven't used that database
in a while", so maybe some users would rather lose the data
and get on with life?

also, we could package a "final version" for etch of the real 4.1 packages
and make them available somewhere outside of debian (p.d.o/alioth).
thus when etch is released and the dist-upgrades start coming in, they
have somewhere to turn if they really do want the data in these databases
(as it might be difficult/impossible for them to get sarge's 4.1 installed
at that point).
