Package: tails-installer Version: 5.0.8+dfsg-1 Followup-For: Bug #814190 Another i3wm user here.
I read somewhere a solution for an unrelated policykit problem: just have running /usr/lib/policykit-1-gnome/polkit-gnome-authentication-agent-1 before and meanwhile tails-installer is called. A graphical authentication dialog shows up, instead of asking it directly on the console, and furthermore it works this time. As other users have stated, when issuing "pkexec whoami" I get an authentication error. If I have running "polkit-gnome-authentication-agent-1" as shown above, the graphical dialog is also issued and then the answer is "root". -- System Information: Debian Release: buster/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 4.16.0-2-amd64 (SMP w/8 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=es_ES.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=es_ES.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE= (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) LSM: AppArmor: enabled Versions of packages tails-installer depends on: ii dosfstools 4.1-2 ii gdisk 1.0.3-1+b1 ii genisoimage 9:1.1.11-3+b2 ii gir1.2-glib-2.0 1.56.1-1 ii gir1.2-gtk-3.0 3.22.30-2 ii gir1.2-udisks-2.0 2.7.6-3 ii mtools 4.0.18-2+b1 ii p7zip-full 16.02+dfsg-6 ii policykit-1 0.105-21 ii python 2.7.15-3 ii python-configobj 5.0.6-2 ii python-gi 3.28.2-1+b1 ii python-urlgrabber 3.10.2-1 ii syslinux 3:6.03+dfsg1-2 ii syslinux-common 3:6.03+dfsg1-2 ii udisks2 2.7.6-3 tails-installer recommends no packages. tails-installer suggests no packages. -- no debconf information
