As you'll see the debian/rules is the usual super-short stanza based on
cdbs. I am not yet sure how best to tell to set -O1 (or even -O0).

I guess 
        DEB_BUILD_OPTIONS=noopt
would do, no?  (Conditional of m68k, of course).

Even then langcore.mk only sets CFLAGS and CXXFLAGS :-/
