Package: geany Version: 1.33-1 Followup-For: Bug #915064 I realized that the problem stems from the fact that the ~ modifier to here documents is apparently relatively new to Perl. While the example code I provided runs fine on 5.28.1, it fails on 5.24.2 (the version in Stable). I suppose Scintilla syntax highlighting is lagging behind Perl development.
