Some of the git clone --shared --reference --dissociate options might
be useful here too. I would say an overlay filesystem would too but I'm
not sure if those are mountable by ordinary users. Another option would
be for the scripts to grow an option for the output directory and write
files there, then lintian-brush could diff any files from there.
