I use kernel 4.9.130 (my own build from current "stretch" sources, package linux-source-4.9 version 4.9.130-2), and on my new machines with i40e devices, I observe similar, occasional issues:

Following the hints in this bug report, I will try the Intel i40e driver, from (either) https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/24411/ https://sourceforge.net/projects/e1000/files/i40e%20stable/ Cheers, Paul -- Paul Szabo p...@maths.usyd.edu.au http://www.maths.usyd.edu.au/u/psz/ School of Mathematics and Statistics University of Sydney Australia
