Hello,  i have just make a test. Tablet ok (read write)with nemo and nautilus.

From calibre , there is now way to "send to device", but "save as" is working 
as workaround....

I can make more tests if you want

I also believe that this bug is probably a libmtp one.  This bug has
been waiting two years for a reply, so I'm thinking about
closing it as invalid when buster is released, if there as not been a
follow-up by that time.  I'm guessing that will be August or
September.

Debian 9 (stretch) shipped with libmtp_1.1.13-1, which is newer than
what existed when you submitted this bug (1.1.12).  Would you please confirm if
I/O can be performed on your Archos Tablet through the file-manager?

In buster we now have 1.1.16-1, and in sid 1.1.16-2.  Testing if your
tablet works with one of these would also be appreciated.
