On Debin user libvirt-qemu should be in group kvm and $ ls -l /dev/kvm crw-rw----+ 1 root kvm 10, 232 Mär 5 09:30 /dev/kvm Plugdev is not the right group here: $ getfacl /dev/kvm getfacl: Removing leading '/' from absolute path names # file: dev/kvm # owner: root # group: kvm user::rw- user:agx:rw- group::rw- mask::rw- other::--- so s.th. seems to be wired in you setup.
