Package: tlp
Version: 1.1-2
Severity: wishlist

Hi,

powertop is sometimes overzealous to report configuration as "bad" while
it isn't. Especially "interesting" cases are SATA link power management
(where med_power_with_dipm is flaged as 'Bad') and VM writeback timeout
(where anything != the powertop-decided 1500 is 'Bad').

I have just spent time to find out from the tlp code that it's the value
of MAX_LOST_WORK_SECS_ON_BAT that get written to the
dirty_writeback_centisecs value that powertop wants to be 14500 to
badly. I was therefore able to determine that powertop is wrong here.

Please consider writing into /etc/default/tlp information, which
sysfs/procfs/other values are affected by a certain setting to make
things easier for people without them having to look at the code.

Thanks for providing tlp!

Greetings
Marc
