This bug report is now 10 years old, but some comments (based on version 1.4): The game can be treated as a puzzle, there's a strategy that makes it not frantic, even on expert mode (although I think the random events can sometimes make it impossible). Some of the hints in the tutorial seem to be wrong. Upgrading the nodes is important, and unupgraded nodes can reduce the steam pressure - when connected to another node that's at a high pressure, steam flows to the low pressure node, and is then lost if the node can't hold the pressure.
