Ok. But still, a package with such unreliable purge function is IMHO just 
broken.

Yes. But I forgot it when the upgrade problem has driven me mad.

I guess you mean ls -ld. And yes, that message was correct, it
suddenly belonged to a local user (apparently a gift from an incorrect
installation script, and I found more stuff in /usr with similar wrong
permissions which is fixed now).
