Package: maxima
Version: 5.42.1-1
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

When (or after) one user on the multi-user system I maintain is
interactively uses Maxima, a file /tmp/gcl_pool appears. As long
as that file exists, it appears that no other user can run Maxima.
If they try anyway, they get the following message:

[1] 32613 segmentation fault (core dumped) maxima

Judging from:

http://git.savannah.gnu.org/cgit/gcl.git/tree/gcl/h/pool.h

this path also cannot be overriden. (say by specifying a different
$TMPDIR)

I'd be much obliged for any help.

Thanks in advance,
Andreas
