The problem is not runit or minit or whatever init.
The bug is that the current mysql scripts ignore the -TERM signal, which
is used in Unix to signal a process to cleanly shutdown.
So I don't think just adding init scripts for runit, minit, etc. will
really solve the problem, only provide a trivial workaround.
(you need different init scripts for most programs anyway. But usually a
symlink to the daemon executable and a file with paramters is
sufficient)
