This package still has some reverse dependencies and some reverse build dependencies, even though I filed bugs over 18 months ago asking people to move away from epydoc. At the recommendation of the release team, I filed bugs against the reverse dependencies, and marked those bugs as serious (those bugs block this removal bug). I have also marked this removal bug as affecting all of the earlier wishlist bugs against reverse build dependencies, just to clarify the impact of removal.
My goal is to remove this package from both unstable and testing. The maintainers for the reverse dependencies and reverse build dependencies have been, for the most part, completely unresponsive, and I think that most of these packages are no longer maintained in any practical sense.
