Package: lua-geoip Version: 0.1.2+git20160613-3 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer,
I wanted to use lua-geoip in a lua script ut found out the package is built only for use with lua 5.1. Test case: cat > foo.lua require 'geoip' ^D lua foo.lua I checked in /usr/lib and indeed the .so file is only in the lua/5.1 directory, and not in the 5.2 and 5.3 ones. Also I find it strange that this package does not depend on a particular version of lua at all? -- System Information: Debian Release: buster/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 4.3.0-1-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Kernel taint flags: TAINT_WARN Locale: LANG=fr_FR.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=fr_FR.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE=fr_FR.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages lua-geoip depends on: ii geoip-database 20181108-1 ii geoip-database-extra 20181108-1 ii libc6 2.28-8 ii libgeoip1 1.6.12-1 lua-geoip recommends no packages. lua-geoip suggests no packages. -- no debconf information
