(Just for reference, the reason for openscad's build-dependency on openscad-mcad is because it is used in the test suite, which is run as part of the build. However I assume (?) that a cross build will not run the test suite and so the build-dependency is actually redundant in this case. However using Multi-Arch: foreign as suggested seems to be a good solution.) - Kristian.
