Hi,

growpart is to be used within the ramdisk, at boot time, it's not
designed to be run the way you do, so that's kind of expected.

For doing what you're doing, there's more standard tools like parted and
such to do it.

I'm therefore closing this bug, unless you want to actually patch the
software yourself, and explain your use case.
