Package: gxine
Version: 0.5.4-0.1
Severity: normal

I have been trying to setup gxine to work with my remote control.
Eventually I found out that a customized lircrc file is required.
According to http://www.xinehq.de/index.php/readme,

  xine --keymap=lirc

may be used to generate a lircrc template file. The option however
doesn't work with gxine:

$ gxine --keymap=lirc
gxine: unrecognized option `--keymap=lirc'
gxine: invalid option (try -h or --help)

The binary /usr/bin/xine is part of the xine-ui package which is
currently not available for Debian Etch. According to the xine homepage
at http://www.xinehq.de, xine and gxine are two different frontends
to the xine libraries. I know of no other way to find out about the
correct "config = xxxx" entries for lircrc. xine and gxine config entries
also seem to have different names.

Thanks for looking into this.
